If you ever think you need to cut people off, go ahead and do it. Waiting to cut people off only makes you waste more time and money being dissatisfied at best, miserable at worst. Don’t put off for tomorrow what you could do today. Cut them off now!
So much synchronicity and alignment lately, feeling the anticipation. Other feelings too, literary writing over journalism, a non-profit.
Narcissists can be tricky, but after decades, I think I’ve finally learned how to identify and deal with them.
Congeniality comes easily to me, but actual friendship is difficult. I’m talking about the friendships like on Girlfriends and Insecure, where you go out with your friends and have them over to your house. I want that, I think, so I’ve been intentional about active friendships.
But when I get that “Hey we really gotta hang out some time, you seem hella cool” DM, or when someone approaches me in the street, I freeze. I know I should get out and meet new people, but the looming threat of abruptly ending friendships taunts me.
