Here's what I've been working on!

In addition to journalistic writing, I've been trying to get back into literary writing. Specifically, I'm working to get an agent so I can get my mom's memoir published. It's my third book and I honestly want all the rah rah and none of the drama. The goal is to just write and exist.

So I've been submitting work for the past week, entering contests and things. When I get some of the chapters/vignettes from the memoir published in the big journals and magazines, I'll look better to agents and publishers and will therefore get a bigger advance, better deal, respect. Also I participated in a Twitter pitch event, #PitMad. One really perfect agent showed interest, and I've emailed her a query letter and my first chapter. Gonna pitch others soon too.

Last year I attended a writing retreat and the organizers said they would send our proposals off to all these agents, but I'm pretty sure they didn't actually do that. I learned a lot at the retreat though, so I'm incredibly ready.

I'll report back in January with great news!

Happy Holidays!

Love,
   Megan

Personal Life

Megan Braden-Perry and Franklin

I joined Clubhouse, and that's been pretty cool. You can find me on there by searching @megandoesnola or Megan Braden-Perry. My bio is pretty perfect, for now, and I'm trying to figure out how to best use this app.

Franklin is so happy to be back at school, and trust I am happy he's back there too.

Dating is nonexistent, so much so that I know I'd literally chase a man if he was wearing nice cologne. That's a plus about Clubhouse, I get to hear men's voices again. Remember, I work from home and it's a pangea.

Oh and I absolutely gained pandemic weight and am trying to exercise or whatever to lose that, and combat the muscle atrophy I feel.

Happy Holidays! Love, Megan
